Giuseppe Tirelli

"One of the important artists of the Italian Neo-figurative sculpture" Edward Lucie- Smith

The blindfolded courtesan is a female figure with a bandage covering her eyes. The head of a lion emerges from the woman's dress, the animal represents the strong and passionate character of the courtesan. The blindfolded eyes hide mystery and sensuality. In all his works Tirelli is able to create a timeless atmosphere where past, present and future coexist. The elegance of his figures lies in the careful study of classical forms, revisited in a contemporary way.

This sculpture was finely hand-modeled in clay.
